Two big news items!

Community Bundles

For starters, there's a new way to obtain copies of The Selkie Envoy: community copies.

As coined by Dee Pennyway (Mnemonic), community copies are free copies of a product meant for customers who are financially in need or socially marginalized. In this case, you can redeem a community copy straight from the Itch page, no questions asked.

How did I calculate the number of community copies? I based it off on the number of paid purchases made from The Selkie Envoy, then I added a few more based on tips made on Selkie. (Thanks for the bonus!) This came out to 63 copies; several copies have already been redeemed.

The Selkie Envoy will remain a paid product because the current $4.99 price tag reflects its worth. That said, I hope the community copy model will make this module accessible to everyone who wants to play it while covering the costs of production.

So why community copies now? That's the next item.

Charity Bundle: TTRPGs for Trans Rights in Texas!

I'm participating in my first charity bundle! TTRPGs for Trans Rights in Texas! is currently live, and Selkie is included. For only $5, you can obtain almost 500 games and contribute to two great trans causes in Texas. What's amazing is that the bundle has already raised more than $100,000 within two days, a figure which will surely be outdated in a few hours.

Having joined the Itch ecosystem after the 2020 Bundle for Racial Justice and Equality, I'm excited to finally be a contributor to a similar endeavor.
